This weekend we went to the Thrasher Family Reunion in Hood River. "Thrasher" you say, "that's not one of your family names, Emily?" Oh contra my friend, Robert's Great-Grandmother was a Thrasher. Robert's grandma Irma is the second generation of this family. Robert's dad Bob is the third generation and Robert is the fourth generation. So the family members that show up to the are related but it's really hard to figure out how. We went to hang out with his family (I love sister-in-laws) so that's what we did. We felt kind of lame because we didn't make an effort to get to know the random family members that were there, but neither did they, so it all worked out.
Here are the kids playing in our tent.
Caleb and Emily horsing around our tent.
The next day the heat continued so we decided to let the kids play at the playground in the hot hot sun. (we've got mad parenting skills)
But we made it up to them when we let them play in the sprinklers. This was the only water sport at the campground. The river was only 30 feet away but would've swept our kids away.
Peek-a-boo turned into jumping into grandma's arms, can you say yeeeaaaahhhh!
We had a great time with Robert's family and can't wait for the next reunion. Bob is in charge next year and we vote for a campground with a lake!

How fun! I'm showing up next year and figuring out some random way to be a Thrasher too!!!
