We went to two church parties this weekend and opted to not go trick-or-treating on Sunday.
On Friday it was our ward party. We invited the family to come along and most of them came.
Myah (cat), Haven (cat), Cohen (Mr. Smarty pants), Caden (Diego), Canyon (Jaguar), Bailey (Dora), & Addie (Boots)
Kitty cats
Jaguar
Back in July Wendy (my SIL) called and said Caden had decided what he was going to be for Halloween- Diego, and he had decided what Bailey and Addie would be too. Thus, came the Dora & Diego crew. The girls accepted their assigned characters and loved it. We decided to make Canyon into Jaguar so Diego could have a sidekick too.

At the ward party Robert won the ward chili cook-off. He kind of "greased the wheels" with all the extra condiments. He had to make a display bowl so people knew how to serve themselves. First prize- a frozen turkey, hey we'll take it.
On Saturday we went to Salem and went to my "home" ward's halloween party. They had carnival games for an hour then "Trunk or Treating". But this wasn't just any old trunk-or-treating, this was a Stake trunk or treating. Literally 5 wards came to the stake parking lot and opened their candy filled trunks. It was crazy.
We only walked about half of the parking lot and the girls pails were full. Plus they were complaining that their arms hurt (from carring so much candy) and they were cold, so we called it quits.

Then Rob got into costume by borrowing Bailey's Dora wig. Nice.

Sounds like lots of fun! It is so funny thinking about life outside of Utah. We didn't even think about trick or treating on Sunday it was just expected that everyone would go around on Saturday. Aw Mormonville!
ReplyDeleteSuper cute...as always!
ReplyDeleteSo Dave really wants Robert's chili recipe! It was awesome. Sam's candy bag was overflowing too, and after a while made Dave carry her. I figured it must have been a stake thing, with how many people were there. Fun Halloween times!
