Daddy-Daughter Date

We are weaning Bailey off of the binky (pacifier) completely this week. That means no binky for naps or tantrums. We would always put the binky's in a little purple bucket on top of Bailey's dresser. The last couple of weeks she has been pointing to the bucket and throwing a tantrum when she didn't get her binky. Occasionally she tried to climb up the dresser but had no success. I was getting tired of the daily tantrums so the binky had to go. On Monday I had Robert show Bailey the bucket'o binky's and say "the binky's are going bye-bye". Then he walked out the door, a minute later he came back in with an empty bucket. Now when ever she points to the bucket or starts a tantrum I just say "the binky's went bye-bye" and she can't argue with that because she saw them go. It's been trying but the outcome will be worth it. She should be binky-free by 18 months old! . . . cross our fingers. It has been a bit stressful around here without the binky. Baileys naps have been cut in half because of it and it's very difficult to loose that extra time. Robert was so nice and decided to give me a break and he took Bailey on their first daddy-daughter date. They went and saw Ratatouille at the dollar theatre. I was able to sit back and scrapbook without interruption, it was fabulous. Thanks Babe, you're the best!

Bailey and Robert heading out the door with the diaper bag packed with lots of supplies, just in case.

Rob says Bailey did great watching the movie and barely moved the first hour. But they did leave 15 minutes early because she was getting antsy.
